Abstract

This paper presents a pedagogical project aimed at refreshing teachers’ digital toolkit and promoting more effectiveuse of the project method by actively involving students. In recent years, we have struggled to find partners withinour teaching staff for small- or large-scale projects. This prompted us to explore the reasons behind this reluctanceand look for possible solutions.
The project involved the entire teaching staff and two 10th-grade groups with prior experience in project-basedlearning. We used a questionnaire to map both students’ needs and teachers’ concerns. Together with the students,we sought to address these issues by organizing a staff workshop, where students shared their knowledge andcollaborated with teachers to create a “digital pencil case” – a structured collection of useful links. Teachers alsocontributed their own tried-and-tested applications.
Students introduced their preferred digital tools through live demonstrations or short tutorial videos uploaded tothe shared collection. In the second part of the event, teachers worked in randomly assigned groups to developsingle-lesson project plans tailored to their current classes, with mentoring support from students. These planswere also added to the digital toolkit to serve as shared, inspirational resources.
Although the school year’s final period is rarely suitable for methodological experimentation, feedback indicatedthat many colleagues considered the workshop useful. Some teachers discovered tools they were eager to try, whileseveral expressed interest in a follow-up session in August to explore the applications in more depth. Resistanceto project-based methods also appears to be decreasing, with at least one form teacher requesting support in de-signing minor projects for the next school year.
